Bishop Defends Decadent Jesuit

Edit: here is Bishop McElroy trying to finesse degeneracy.
[America] Father James Martin is a distinguished Jesuit author who has spent his life building bridges within the Catholic Church and between the church and the wider world. He has been particularly effective in bringing the Gospel message to the millennial generation. When we survey the vast gulf that exists between young adults and the church in the United States, it is clear that there could be no more compelling missionary outreach for the future of Catholicism than the terrain that Father Martin has passionately and eloquently pursued over the past two decades. There are few evangelizers who have engaged that terrain with more heart and skill and devotion.

Last year Father Martin undertook a particularly perilous project in this work of evangelization: building bridges between the church and the L.G.B.T. community in the United States. He entered it knowing that the theological issues pertaining to homosexuality constituted perhaps the most volatile element of ecclesial life in U.S. culture.

It was this very volatility that spurred Father Martin to write his new book Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the L.G.B.T. Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion and Sensitivity. Using a methodology that is fully consonant with Catholic teaching, employing Scripture, the rich pastoral heritage of the church and an unadulterated realism that makes clear both the difficulty and the imperative for establishing deeper dialogue, Father Martin opens a door for proclaiming that Jesus Christ and his church seek to embrace fully and immediately men and women in the L.G.B.T. community.

On paper, this sounds like a very good idea. It opens up the Church to modern times. However, you have to look at reality.---Fathers Geoghan and Shanley were sent into the gay community in Boston by Cardinal Humberto Medeiros who was Portuguese. There was a complete breakdown and fall into promiscuity. They were converted by their environment. It is similar to the "worker priests" in Italy. They all became Communists.---The Boston Globe broke the scandal. Medeiros died. Bernard Law was sent in to "clean up the shop". This effort at being a "firefighter" failed because forgiveness was not the issue and addiction was.---Now, we have an even greater problem. Sexual promiscuity is being accepted as normal in "Amoris Laetitia" with "fornication, adultery, and sodomy". That is where the logic of normalcy falls apart.---It is related that when the Bolsheviks overthrew Christianity, they encouraged "special friendships" in the workplace. This evolved into loyalty to the state and destroyed marital relationships.

People were complaining about Stanley long before they sent him out to do the gay thing.

He's probably one of them himself. Our Lord embraces filth and sodomy? I don't think so Bishop McElroy. Not without repentance, He doesn't.

no doubt why he was selected for the 'mission'.

I think his defense of Martin's degeneracy is too spirited for him not to be.

Any Catholic who chooses to use the term LGBT is so far gone that they're even in conflict with the views of the current pope, at least on "transgenderism". During his visits to Poland and Georgia in 2016, Francis said the following:

"Today, in schools they are teaching this to children – to children! – that everyone can choose their gender. We are living a moment of annihilation of man as the image of God.”

And

“A great enemy of marriage today is the theory of gender. Today, there is a global war trying to destroy marriage… they don’t destroy it with weapons, but with ideas. It’s certain ideological ways of thinking that are destroying it. We have to defend ourselves from ideological colonization..”

Seems like Bishop McElroy would disagree.

Yeah, whoever uses the neologisms of the enemy is very far gone indeed.

Agreed. As Michael Voorhees said, these degenerate old men seem to come to life when the discussion turns to sodomy and its defense.
